The Upper Cape Chapter of the Deborah Hospital will hold their monthly meeting on January 18 at 8:00 P.M. at the Italian American Club, John F. Kennedy Blvd., Sea Isle City. 1979 dues are to be submitted at the meeting. SENIOR CITIZENS PINOCHLE PARTY The Senior Citizens Pinochle Card Party will be held at Crest Pier, Crocus and Atlantic Aves. on Tuesday, Jan. 9th at 12 noon. Refreshments, prizes and admission free. Christian Business Women Hold Dinner Party

"Furry Flurries” will be the theme of the Southern Shore Christian Business and Professional Women’s Council Dinner Party, Jan. 8th, at 7:00 pm. at Quail Hill Inn, Smithville, New Jersey. The special feature will be a fashion show of furs by Levine’s of Atlantic City. Music for the evening will be provided by Bill Hock, a tenor from Absecon, NJ. Our Guest Speaker will be Mrs. Arlene Jones of Portsmouth, Va. She is the wife of Major Orwin C. Jones, Jr. of the United States Air Force, whose FI05 was shot down over

North Vietnam in 1972. Major Jones is one of 1300 men still listed as missing in action. Currently Mrs. Jones is speaking to Women’s groups sharing with them her experiences as a MIA wife for the past six years. Christian Business and Professional Women’s Council is nondenominational with no formal membership, sponsoring Clubs and Councils around the world. All dinners are open to the public. Santa’s Visit Brings Cheer

When you’re little and sick, it’s bad, but when you’ve got to spend Christmas in the hospital it takes someone like Santa himself to cheer you up. And for the four young patients in the Pediatric Department of Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, that’s just what Santa Claus did the day before Christmas. Santa entered the ward ringing his bell and carrying a sack of presents for the tiny patients. The youngsters awoke to their surprise to find the jolly gent giving them presents and wishing them all a speedy

recovery. To little Richard "Artie" Corson he gave a stuffed Snoopy dog doll, to Sandrea Levering he gave a word puzzle game and to Thomas Ramsey he gave a miniature movie viewer to help pass the time. The other little patient, a 14 month old, was too scared of Santa to accept a present although Santa left one anyway so the nurse on duty could help open it later. Then, just as quickly as he came into the ward, out he went waving and wishing all a Merry Christmas.
