County Board of Agriculture Installs '79 Officers

The Cape May County Board of Agriculture held its installation dinner and Ladies Night Program at the Golden Eagle Inn, Cape May, on Sat., Jan. 6th. Over 75 members and wives were in attendance. Installed as new officers of the organization for 1979 were president George W. Betts, of Petersburg: vice president Harold H. Shaw, of Marmora, secretary C. Newton Schellinger, of Dias Creek, and assistant secretary and treasurer Curtis T. Corson, of Seaville. Walter H. Betts of Tuckahoe, current president of the State Board of Agriculture was the installing officer. Also Installed as newly elected Executive Committeemen for three year terms were: C. Newton Schellinger. Dias Creek; Curtis T. Corson. Ocean View; Vincent DiLuzio, Tuckahoe; Lester Germanio, Belleplain; Marshall Howey. Villas; Felix Wuerker, Rio Grande and George Reeves, Cape May. A Special Award Plaque was presented to Earl K. Simkins of South Seaville, for outstanding and dedicated service to the Cape May County 4-H Fair Barbecue for over 15 years.

VILLAS CIVIC CLUB SOCIAL NITE The Villas Civic Club will hold their Social Night on Sat., Jan. 13th at 8 P.M. at the Millman Center, Bayshore Rd. in the Villas. Refreshments and prizes for all. Donation is $1.00.

Diane Croiter, R.N. addressed two clubs of horsemanship, in the 4-H, the Shore Showmen, and the Cape Trotters. Mrs. Croitor lectured on how to properly give injections to horses (if the need were to arrive). She gave a demonstration and then the 4-H’ers practiced by sticking

the needles in oranges.

A movie from the Extension

Service in New Brunswick, entitled “How to Spot Health Problems in Horses by Observation” was shown to the group of about 20 people from age 9-19 years. The sponsor of the Shore Showmen is Doris Sturm and the Cape Trotters is sponsored by Joyce Rahn.
