Senior Citizen's Club News GOLDEN AGE CLUB OF THE WILDWOODS

The first meeting of the year was held on Jan. 11th at The Mooee Hall, 314 Spruce Ave.,N. Wildwood, at which time the new officers were installed by a representative of the Soroptomist club. It was a beautiful and impressive ceremony as each officer took His oath and lit a candle. The list of officers were Mrs. Laura Moose, Pres., Mr. Charles Jochem, vice pres., Mrs. Margaret Jacobs, Sec., Mr. Charles Helms, Treasurer. The next meeting will be on Thun., Jan. 25th, same place at 12 noon. Come out and support your new officers. There will be a trip going to the Mardi Gras on Feb. 18th for nine days. Included in the price will be a Banquet Ball with prime rib, open bar, and dancing in New Orleans. Also a boat trip

out on the Mississippi River.

CITIZENS The Avalon Senior Citizens organization conducted their first meeting of 1979 at the Avalon Borough Hall, in the firs floor meeting room which will now be their regular place of meeting for the next two months, the second and fourth Tuesdays. Appropriately at the first meeting a new slate of officers was elected. They are: President, Gerturde Conville; vice president, Ruth Conroy, recording secretary, Edna W. Elsworth; corresponding secretary, George Scattergood; Treasurer, Allen Reckard; Director 1, Robert Armstrong, 1 year; Director 2, William Crawford, 2 years; Director 3, Hazel Reckard, 2 years; Director 4, John McCarthy, 2 years; and Director 5, James Henry, 3 years. As in the past the first meeting each month will include business affairs of the club and speakers while the second Tuesday will be for fun and games. The most important news of Avalon Seniors at this time is their meeting will take place at 1:30 P.M. The next meeting will be Jan. 23rd at the Borough Hall; one may use either the front or the rear entrance. AVALON SENIORS There will be an Avalon Seniors meeting Tues., Jan 23rd at 1:30 P.M. at Borough Hall. Cards & bingo. CARD PARTY AARP Victorian Chapter 601 will have a Bridge, Pinochle, and Bingo Party Tues., Jan. 23rd at the Victorian Towers Auditorium. Table prizes, door prizes, refreshments, 12 noon. Bring cards. Donation is $1.25. VICTORIAN TOWERS AARP NEWS AARP Victorian Chapter 691 held their regular monthly meeting in the Victorian Towers on Wed. Jan. 10th. Guest speakers were Surrogate W. Robert Hentges and Attorney Bruce M. Gorman. Surrogate Hentges gave a very informative talk on wills and answered all questions from the floor. Attorney Gorman explained the role of an attorney in preparing a will. The Program Committee have interesting programs scheduled for future meetings. There will be a card party at the Victorian Towers Auditorium on Tues. Jan. 23rd starting at 12 noon. Bridge, pinochle, bingo table prizes, door prizes. Refreshments. Donation $1.25. The next meeting will be Feb. 14th at the Victorian Towers starting at 1 P.M. Refreshments available before this meeting.

,MILLMAN SENIORS The regular monthly meeting of the Millman Seniors Club was held on Jan. 8th in Millman Center, Villas, and Mrs. Lillian Lyons was installed as Trustee for three years. The next regular meeting will be held on Feb. 12th at 1 P.M. CLUB NEWS The regular monthly meeting of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Cape May County Chapter 1197 will be leld on Thursday, January 11th at the Millman Civic Center Building, Villas. Social Hours is 1 to 2 P.M. Business meeting follows. All retired Federal Employees are cordially invited to attend. The new officers of the Good Counsel Friendship Club were elected on Dec. 6th. President, Ollie Davis; vice president, Jim Corcoran; 2nd vice president. Jack Caville, treasurer, Peter Pellgrine; recording secretary, Marion McCauley; corresponding secretary, Mary Anne Mills; directors for a two year term, Dorothy Shaw and Helene Smyth.
