Winter Wanes...

...and with it the days when one can walk alone on an otherwise utterly deserted Cape May County beach. The signs of the fading winter solitude are aplenty: an occasional V. pointing northward, silhouetted against the sky: a few hardy spring flowers pushing their way through the only-recently thawed earth; slightly more weekend activity, especially around realty offices; and-we have it on the authority of Herald columnist Peter Dunne -the first hawks have been spotted heading north. But the most certain sign is the march of the calendar, which says that Spring is less than two weeks away.
