Monday thru Thursday: Ceramic class hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30..GeorgeStrattan and Cass Gfark instructors along with Eleonora Cubemot who is the expert in her field of ceramics. Elephant game: Monday only at 12:30 p.m. with Grace Richards in charge. Tuesday: Bingo at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday & Thursday: Macrame and Stick Weaving all day.. Jack Wagner macrame instructor and John Liguori Stick Weaving expert. Wednesday morning: Marion Bechtold R.N. will be here Jrom 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 for thoscrwho wish to have their pressures taken free of charge. Wednesday & Fridays Pinochle playing in the afternoon. Thursday: Language class with Anthony Villani instructor...class begins at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30...all are welcome to come in and join...Line dancing in the afternoon from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Dot Wheeler will take you thru the steps. Monday-Thursday: Physical fitness at 10:30a.m. toll:30a.m.. George Strattah in charge. Monday thru Friday: Knitting..crocheting..place mats..hook rugs..napkin dolls..broom stick lace.. Transportation: Call Anna M. Walls at 886-5161 and she will see that you don’t have to worry about coming over to the center . Let her know a few days ahead of time. ACC Slates Courses For County Seniors Sixty-eight free non-credit courses specially designed for senior adults will be offered by Atlantic Community College, beginning March 12, at 38 locations in Atlantic and Cape May Counties. The courses, part of ACC’s SAGES (Senior Adults Gaining Education and Stimulation) program, will meet once a week for eight weeks. They do not carry college credit. Atlantic and Cape May County residents 60 and older can enroll in the courses by going to the first class meeting the week of March 11. They should bring with them either their ACC SAGES membership cards or their Social Security numbers. Senator To Host Senior Intern
In His Washington Office
U.S. Senator * Harrison A. Williams, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced that he will host a senior citizen intern in his Washington. D.C. office during the middle of
May.
Williams said he is now accepting applications from seniors who might be interested in the two-week intern program which includes seminars and meetings in the nation's capital as well as daily work with the Senator’s legislative staff. 'Senior interns are drawn from all parts of the country and all walks of life and their experience in Washington is not only valuable to them, but invaluable to the elected representatives who must draft federal policy." Williams chairs the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee which has legislative jurisdiction for a wide variety of senior citizen programs. Last
year, Mr. Harry F. Bitner of Carneys Point, N.J. who was the President of the Western Salem County Chapter of the National Retired Teachers Association/American Association of Retired Persons, served as Williams' senior intern. The Senator said that senior interns work on problems experienced by New Jersey constituents and develop responses to senior citizens, in the state, with special concerns. Williams said that his senior intern will work from May 7-18, 1979 a time when other Congressional offices will also be hosting interns. A Capitol Hill group coordinates the activities of the senior interns while they are in Washington and helps arrange lodging find special briefings for those who are selected to participate. The individual selected to participate receives a small but appropriate stipend for his or her work. To qualify for the program. Williams said that applicants should: 1) be actively involved in senior citizen projects in his or her community.
2) be age 60 or older and in good health, 3) have appropriate recommendations and background for legislative work in Washington, and 4) applicants should send a letter and resume to: Senator Harrison A. Williams, Jr./Room 352 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20510. These letters must be postmarked no later than March 21.1979.

AARP To Meet Mar. 13 in Courthouse American Association of Retired Persons, Chapter 1182, Township of Middle will meet on Tuesday, March 13 at 1:30 P.M. in Memorial Hall of the First Methodist Church in Cape May Court House. A short business meeting will be followed by a fellowship hour. Persons who are 55 years and older are welcome to attend.
