Shoreline Plan WASHINGTON. DC. - Con gressmen Bill Hughes (D-NJ) and James Howard (D-NJ) are drafting an amendmfent which would allow, the major Inlets in New Jersey to be dredged on a

regular basis.

The two, lawmakers said their proposal should go a long way towards helping meet New Jersey's ever-ipereasing

shoreline protection needs.

"In New Jerr^y, the Inlets are rtie lifeblood of many of our local communities.'' Hughes explained. "The fishing, boating and tourism industries depend heavily upon a clear navigation channels Between the inland

and Catairio.

The fooiharily step taken by the County Chairmen in censuring Mre. Gross. National Committee Woman is completely out of order. The National .Committee Woman is elected by the state, county chairmen have nothing whatsoever to dd with any disciplinary action taken against an officer of the State Committee! The self-saving move that happened was that county chairmen

voters make a decision before

election day:

(1) age; (2) colleges or universities attended and degrees, if any; f3) business experience — names of companies, products or services offered and positions held; (4) past, or present duties as elected or appointed official of Avalon or other commimity; (5) past or present association with any agencies concerned with commerce and^mdustry. safety or general improvement of Avalon or other commimity; H>) any present business connection and hours per week that must be devoted to it; (7) hours per week that could and would be devoted

/Gross sponsored Ronald Reagan dinner and from ttop accounts of the crowd in attendance, it is obvious ihat move of thie chair-

men earned no weight.

If Mrs. Gross has enough on the ball to bring the leading contender for (be Presidency of the United States to New Jersey, she should be complimented, not

disciplined.

It will be interesting to see whether Matalucci. or Catarcio wi'l move to censure two freeholder candidate hopefuls from the Ocean City area. Since both of them, in the last election admittedly supported Congressman Hughes and Chester Wimberg, both

Democrats.

Obviously, every, class would not apply to all. However, as many answers as possible should be provided. His Assembly Bill, A-lO/’has been reported out by the Taxation Committee and is ready for a vote on the floor. Assemblyman Joseph Chinnici is a co-sponsor. Hurley said there is special interest in sales tax figures in Cape May and Cumberland Counties, tourist contributions \ lx?ing especially significant. ‘Armed with these facts, we will be in a better position to assure Cumberland - Cape May of a fair share of state aid. Hurley continued, ‘Years ago people laughed when a store clerk said' ‘plus ten cents for the Governor*, but with inrfation it is no longer a laughing matter. The total take is larger and larger and communities have a right to know, if only as a matter of pride, how much they put in the kitty.’
