Frank Murphy Announces County Freeholder Bid

Dennis Township Committecman Frank Murphy has announced he will seek dectkm to The Cape May County Freeholder seat, being vacated by Freeholder Tom Tucker, in the upcoming November election. Murphy’s announcement was made last week after meeting with County Party leaders. Murphy has been considering the Freeholder race for some months at the urging of many citizens and party leaders. “The final decision was up to my wife, Betty, and the family”, Murphy said. They have given their approval, so I have entered the race —to win!” Murphy, a former Mayor of Dennis Township and presently a Committeeman, was first elected in 1975. His 1979 campaign for Freeholder will be baaed on Working With People', and he said he would continue to ‘hammer away’ at continued 'over-regulation' at ail forms of government. f ‘The people fed we are being over-regulated, and I agree”, Murphy stated. Murphy opposes many of the changes which require homeowners to obtain permits for ‘just about everything’. Murphy claims this, is a "gross invasion of privacy”. So far, he has gathered more than 12,000 signatures on petetions from all over the state, opposing

the changes.

‘‘I feel I can continue to hdp the people of Cape May County on a broader range, as a member of The Cape May County Freeholder Board”, Murphy said,: “and that is why I am seeking the post I pledge to serve aU the people of the County”. Murphy is married and the , father of 5 children. He and his wife betty are the proud Grandparents of 7 grandchildren. They reside in Ocean View. Murphy is a Life Member of VFW Post 6257, Bdle Plain. He served as a paratrooper in Korea during the Korean War.

Transportation: Now that it's AARP Poconos Trip Sea Isle City Oapter 710, AARP, is now receiving reservations for a trip to the White Beauty View Resort on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos This is a trip to senior citizens for 5 days, 4 nights and 13 meals. Buses will leave Sea Isle City on Monday morning, June 18 at 7 a.m. and return after lunch on Friday, June 22. Deposit on reservation will be due on April 15th, the balance by June 1.
