Seven youth soccer teams have been organized by the Dennis Twp. Ruritan Club and are entered in the Cape May County Soccer League Association. All the Dennis Twp. teams are cosponsored by the Ruritan Club and the Dennis Twp. Recreation Committee.

The County Soccer League is now in its third year of organized team play with teams from over one-half of the County's municipalities participating. President of the County Soccer League Association is Jerry MacFarland of Avalon. Coordinator of the Dennis Twp. teams

through the Ruritan Club is Gary Errickson of Dennisville. The County Soccer League teams are broked down into three main age groups with both boys and girls eligible to play; Senior teams, ages 13 through 15; middle teams, ages 10 through 12; and junior teams, ages 7 through 9. The Dennis Twp. teams and their coached who entered in this years league play are as follows; Senior teams include the ‘Trojans' - coach, Kevin Creamer of Belleplain and the 'Gladiators' - coach, Daniel Errickson Jr. of Northwest Dennis; Middle teams include the ‘Phantoms’ - coach, Rev. William Robinson, Northwest Dennis, the ’Furies’ - coach, Gary Errickson of Dennisville. and ‘Spirits' - coach, George Stafford of South Dennis; Junior teams include the ‘Astros’ - coach, Mrs Sandy Errickson of Dennisville, and ‘Tigers’ - coach, Marion Solomon of South Dennis. Gary Errickson, soccer league coordinator for the Ruritan Club said 126 Dennis Twp. youths have signed up for the County Soccer League team play for the 1979 season of which two-thirds are boys and one-third arc girls. Every youth gets to play in every game regardless of their experience and ability. Errickson said 'we are very pleased with both the response to and the success of the County Soccer League program in our township. It is a positive recreational and physical fitness program for our youth. We sincerely appreciate the financial and organizational assistance from both the Dennis Twp. Committee and the Ruritan Club’ He said Dennis Twp. Soccer leans placed very well in last years league finals with the •Trojans' completing the season as Cape May County Senior Division champions and the ‘Furies’ winning third place in the Junior Division. In addition the ‘Phantoms' entered the Middle Division playoff. County Soccer league play begins on April 7, for the Senior Division and the following week for the Middle and Junior Divisions. All citizens are welcome as spectators. The home field for the Dennis Twp soccer teams is the Dennis Twp. School athletic field. Interested persons may receive a League Play Schedule from any of the team coached.
