Vo-Tech Student Wins at Skill Olympics
Twenty-six students from the Cape May County Vocational. Technical Center participated last weekend in the New Jersey V1CA Leadership Conference and Skill Olympics held in Secaucus. New Jersey. VICA, the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America, is a national organization of vocational students. Ms. Tama la Marks, a Middle Towiship High School senior and cosmetology student at Vo Tech, won the prepared speech contest for the second year in a row, and will now represent New Jersey in the National
' Competition. The United States Skill Olympics will be held July 22-27. in Atlanta, Georgia. The following students also competed: Shirley McCourt, Torri Walters, Shirley Pagodin, Kelly Salter. organization serving over 300,000 students who are preparing for careers in trade, industrial and technical occupations. The programs of VICA are strongly supported by business, labor, and industry as well as by the United States Office of Education and the New Jersey Department of Education. Historical Soc. The regular meeting of the Greater Cape May Historical Society will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at 7:30 p.m. in the Colonial House next to Cape May City Hall.

Easter Egg Hunt In Avalon
Avalon -April 14th at 11 a m. there will be only one place to be in the Borough of Avalon and lhat will be Community Hall. 30th and the beach At that time the Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held with tots from preschool to fifth grade scrambling for colorful eggs. This event, hosted by Mayor and Mrs. Ellsworth Armacast has become a tradition in Avalon.
All youngsters have an equal chance, since categories will be divided by ages. The Easter Rabbit annually scatters eggs in many hard to find places. Those bringing youngsters are reminded to be at the Community Hall a little early because the hunt starts exactly at II a m. and is usually over in less than five minutes.
Mayor and Mrs. Armacost will award the prizes at the conclusion of the hunt on the Boardwalk adjacent to the Community Hall. “We urge all the young and young at heart to come out and enjoy this event." said Mayor Armacost. it’s part of the Borough's recreation program and it proves that we try to have something for everyone.”

Villas GOP Club Hoagie Sale The Villas Women's Regular Republican Gub will have a hoagie sale on April 19th from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the club house. Convention Hall, at Burk Avenue k the Boardwalk, will be the focal point, of the Wildwoods’ Easter Parade, sponsored by the Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, the Wildwoods Womens Civic Gub and the Wildwoods Public Relations Department. Convention Hall will be open at 12:30 p.m. and judging will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Mayor Guy F. Muziani and other city and business leaders, will welcome the Easter strollers. There will be prizes,
candy and corsages. Weather cannot dampen the Ekster afternoon because the Convention Hall is large enough to accommodate as many people as any outdoor area. Judges will be looking for winners in several different categories among them: Best Dressed Family, Best Dressed Couple, Best Dressed Woman and Best Dressed Man. In addition other prizes will be given to children in various categories.
DOCTOR'S DAY at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital Dr. Robert Salasin, Jr. is shown receiving a red carnation from Hospital Auxiliary member Barbara Burton and a cup of coffee from Ester Woll on March 30th, Doctor's Day at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Hiat day was set aside in 1958 by the United States Congress to honor all members of the Medical Profession. It was the dlite in 1842 when ether was first administered for anesthesia purposes. Eight members of the Auxiliary served in shifts to show the doctors at Burdette that the people want to say "thank you" for their service and dedication.
