CITIZENS! TAXPAYERS, AND HOMEOWNERS OF AVALON SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD REMEMBER ABOUT MAYOR ELLSWORTH ARMACOST:

He has fought for the preservation of the dunes since 1965 • starting with 39th Street. Remember? He was for the establishment of 'the dune line. Remember? He was instrumental in the Dun'e Grass Planting Program and the erection oh snow and rustic cedar fencing along the beach front. State officials have surveyed this and now other communities are patterning us. Have you forgotten?

He put the beach paths , thru the dunes so that people would have access to our beautiful beaches without struggling to get there. Remember? He was successful in securing the first fully equipped ambulance for the Borough of Avalon in 1968. Remember? He chose to donate back to the Borough of Avalon his salary the first four years he was Commissioner. Remember?

He has maintained the street in good stead, at such a low cost to the taxpayers that neighboring communities are now duplicating our methods. Has he not? He has been known to work all night beside his men to repair serious ' water leaks and then treated those.men to breakfast before going home. Remember? A . He has spent his own money, many times, to have equipment repaired and replaced when time was essential. Remember? He was instrumental in getting the Public Works the equipment they needed to operate properly and efficiently. Remember? He has worked long End diligently trying to have all the lagoons dredged so people can enjoy them. Has he no*? He negotiated for the best settlement with the MUA on behalf of the taxpayers of Avalon. Remember? He tried to upgrade the Sewerage Treatment Plant but was restricted by' the MUA, DEP and the State and Federal government. Remember? Who in town has ever approached him and been turned away and not v helped?
