Harbor Chamber Wants Dredging
STONE HARBOR - At the April dinner meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, Civic Welfare Committee Chairman R. Jack Fitipatrick made an urgent plea for all members and guests to aid the borough in its efforts to have the basins dredged with the spoils being deposited as fill on lots at 122nd St. Each member in attendance was given a list of the namesand addresses of the heads of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia and the Commissioner of New Jersey’s Dept, of Environmental Protection. They were requested to write these governmental
divisions expressing their views as to the reason why they wanted the basins dredged and the spoils used as landfill. They were also requested to contact' their immediate neighbors to seek their help in this very important matter. Members of all the other organizations in the borough are being called upon to cooperate with the - Chamber by having their ' memberships write to the above offices. In bringing this matter to the floor the ’ Chamber stated there were out-of-town groups taking all kinds of steps to block not only the dredging of the basins and the disposal of the spoils, but constantly
