VILLAS - A petition drive to decrease New Jersey auto tag prices to $10 for senior citizens and handicapped persons is going very well, a drive organizer said Monday. "Were getting a lot of signatures. We have over 2.500 already." Vincent McMahon of the Villas said. The petition drive is sponsored by the Van Duesen Republican Club of Lower Township. • Petitions have been circulated from Dennisvilie to Cape May. McMahon said. "We've had some very good Vesults from Cape May." he added. The sponsoring group believes revenue to supplement the lower tag costs should come from Atlantic City gambling casino profits. McMahon said. "If Pennsylvania can do it. why can't New Jersey." McMahon said. The N.J. Department of Highways has indicated that abuses of such a special rate might result with younger rhembers of a family trying td apply fof ,tflgs at the lower

price. McMahon said. One solution might be to print the driver's social security number on his license, he suggested. Petitions will be sent to Assemblyman J. Chinnici of

Bridgeton, a backer of the proposed bill No. A695. Anyone wanting petitions Should call HK-5760. 8864191 or 886-8923 "We really need to push this." McMahon said.
