Bike-A-Thon Plans COURT HOUSE - Cape May County area youngsters are invited to meet Mimi Feldt and E.C §hepard. co-chairpersons, at the Cystic Fibrosis Bike a-Thon at Cape May County Park Saturday. May 19 from 2 p m. to 5 p.m. Participation in the Cystic Fibrosis Bike-a-Thon is open to anyone wishing to help children and young adults who suffer from cystic fibrosis and other lung-damaging disease like chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and severe asthma. All Cape May County Bike Riders are invited to participate Pre-registration begins at 12 p m at the Cape May County Park. Chinnici i R-Cumberland-Cape May) has been reappointed to the State Beach Erosion Commission, a state panel with responsibility for addressing the severe problems caused by oceanfront and shoreline erosion. Chinnici. serving his fourth term in the Assembly, was named to the commission by the Speaker of the General Assembly. “In recent years. New Jersey’s coastline has been severely damaged by harsh winter storms and. in fact, some communities lost nearly all their beachfronts.” Chinnici said. ^ "With the success of our billion-dollar resort and tourist industry dependent upon maintaining attractive ocean beaches, it is vital that the state act to help those areas most in nee*#' The Assemblyman said that he was hopeful the commission would work closely with other state agencies, notably the Department of Environmental Protection, to develop a coordinated master plan to preserve the beachfront Chinnici. a former Cumberland County Freeholder, also serves on the Joint Appropriations Committee.
