RETIREMENT IIONOREES — Shown above are Edith and Melville Lockwood, retiring Cape May County 4-H A«ent. at the surprise dinner party held in his honor Monday evening, May 15, at the Golden Eagle Inn, Cape May. Over 200 people'attended the affair. The laockwood’s received many gifts, including a weeks vacation at Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Lockwood’s official retirement date will be June 30,1979.

Toll Increases Weighed

NKW CASTLE. DE. - Tool rate increases lor the Cape May Lewes Kerry and the Delaware Memorial Bridge have been recommended by consultants lor the Delaware River and Bay Authority. The report jil Coverdale and Colpitis. Inc., ol New York City, reviewed recently at a regular monthly meeting ol Authority commissioners, indicates that starting in 1981 estimated revenues under the existing toll schedules will not be sullicient to cover expenses and debt service requirements. Passenger rates including walk-on passenger rates would not be changed. Delaware Memorial Bridge Noting that the bridge toll rates lor passenger cars and trucks had last been changed in 1983. the Traltic Engineer recommended that the passenger car cash toll be increased Irom 50 cents to 60 cents per crossing. Commuter tolls would increase Irom

*20 cents to 30 cfnts per crossing. Truck tolls would be raised lrom.35 cents per axle to50centsperaxle. The toll changes would be put into ettect Jan. 1. 1980il approved. * * Alter receiving the report, the Comnftssioners ■ instructed the Authority’s x Director to distribute the report to the news media. The Commissioners will review the report contents and will decide whbther or not to implement the recommended rates at a later Authority meeting.
