SEA ISLE CITY Children from the Sea Isle City and St. Joseph’s" Catholic School are assisting in this resort’s efforts to determine if the need exists of car pooling as a gasoline saver. Al Zurawski. chairman of the local survey committee. said all children received questionnaires to take home for their parents and working brothers, sisters and other relatives
to HU out.
Frank Dougherty, public school principal, and Sister Andrea, of St. Joseph's, handed out the questionnaires this week and they asked the children have them returned by the end of
the week.
An earlier pool of some 363 motorists leaving town on a normal work day from 5 a m to 9 a m. brought only 64 responses. This indicates car pooling already exists in Sea Isle City to a certain
degree.

Some at the Lenox China facility and NAFEC in Pomona and some dozen , who work in casino related jobs in Atlantic City engage in car pooling. A few car-pool to jobs in Ocean City and the mainland areas of Pleasantville. Northfield and Linwood. Zurawski noted Some who travel great
distances, for instance to Philadelphia and Wilmington areas, said they cannot car pool because of the nature of their job. Others flatly refuse to ride with other because they reportedly either drive- too fast, too slow, play the radio too loud. like to stop for refreshments or have errands to run to or from jobs. Some car-pool marriages just wouldn't work. Zurawski noted. “Those of short duration seem to work well, especially if there are several in a car.” he said "One man sealed in the middle of the back seat with two women, and three women in the front, laughed heartily when he said he wasn't in favor of car-pooling ” The V results of the children's pool will be announced as soon as possible. Zurawski said.
