BOYS STATE WINNER. John Keith Halbruner of Cape May (center), has been chosen as the Harry Snyder Post 193 of the American Legion’s delegate to the 34th Annual Boys State program. The program stresses development of youth as good citizens by providing inspiration for a more active and intelligent interest in the operation of state and national government. Boys State, introduced by the American Legion in Illinois in 1936, is now a nationwide program. The purpose of the American Legion Jersey Boys State is to develop good citizens in the United States of America by inspiring the youth of New Jersey to take a more active and intelligent interest in the operatio of our State and Nation and in the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship. f' Boys State participants are nominated by their teachers or by seniors who were delegates the previous year. Leadership, character, scholarship, patriotism and service are the criteria on which the
COURT HOUSE - There will he an OPEN HOUSE held at the Cape May County Historical Museum. Rt 9, Cape May Court House Sunday, June 10 from 2-4 p.m. The events is open to the public, and' no admission will be charged. The main feature of the afternoon will be the opening of the permanent exhibit of 40 County’decoys which belonged to the former president of the Cape May County Historical and Genealogical Society, the late Richard V. Anderson. These decoys were collected by Anderson and a history of each one kept. The collection will be shown as a memorial to Anderson.
