Performances by the Angelus Chorus and Gary’ Struifcious will be featured. *** The Angeliis Chorus was founded in 1965, and under the capable guidance of its director-Joseph L. Verna of Wildwood—the fiftyvoice group has gained . wide aclaim with, performances in South Jersey. Delaware Valley and
elsewhere.
The group always tries to be timely in the selection of its program, while keeping the traditional flavor of American music that has thrilled audiences over the 1'he Angelus Chorus will be 'on stage at the Showmovile beginning at 2 ’ p.m., Sunday. Balladeer • Gary Struncious jwill perform begimiing at 2:$) p.m. A New York City native and •now North Jersey resident, Slruncious has been influenced by the social commentary in the music of Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and Woodie Guthrie, and hj$ concert selections reflect that influence. ‘‘Music is one of the most important forms of communication," Gary says. "When people hear a song to which they can relate, then those people know they are not alone, and that other people ard\ sharing the same experiences." The Showmobile Concerts are a regular weekly functibn of. the summer program at the Cape May County Park. They are free of charge, as are the childiTAS zoo and the use of picniAtables and grilles, and various items of sports equipment for use on the many courts and fields. There is ample free parking on the park grounds just off Route 9 north of Cape May Court House. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. until dark. Concert goers are reminded to bring cushions, folding chairs, or other seats as none are
provided.
