‘Firebird’ Ballet At ACC
MAYS LANDING - The Mt. Laurel Regional Ballet Co. will present Stravinsky’s ’The Firebird,’’ Saturday. June 16 at Atlantic Community College. The program will begin at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of Writer E. Edge Hall on ACC's Mays Landing campus. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children, students and senior citizens. * The dance troupe, directed by Lorraine McAdams, is in residence at ACC for the fourth consecutive year. The concert will include: “Mazurka," choreographed by Ms. McAdams, from Leo Delibes’ "Coppelia.” •Rhapsody for Two,” choreographed by Phillip Carman to music by
Tchaikovsky. “Waltzes and Polonaise," from Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin." choreographed by Frank Ohm an of the New York City Ballet. "The Firebird” will be staged by Richard Holden ,of the American Ballet Theatre. The production is based on original choreography by Michael Fokine. "The Firebird” is one of the classics of the twentieth century. It is a colorful fairy tale about a prince who wins his enchanted princess by vanquishing a sinister magician with the aid of the firebird. NJROTC Awards
COURT HOUSE - The Annual Change of Command and Awards ceremony of the Middle Township’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (NJROTC) Unit were held June 3 at the High School on Bennett Road and Garden State Parkway in Cape MayCourt House. Guest Speaker of the day was Captain Leo V. Donchoe, Commanding Officer of the USCC Training Center, Cape May. Members of the cadet company were honored for their many endeavors during the school year and some for their per-
formances over a four year period by many local and area organizations. Music was provided by the excellent USCG Band from Cape May under the fine direction of Assistant Band Director Musician First Calss William Carson. The command of the Unit was passed from Cadet LCDR Robert Erriickson of 103 Crest Road, Cape May Court House to Calven Haskins of Indian Trail, Cape May Court House for the coming 1979-80 school year. Robert Errisckson will study at Monmouth Collage, West Long Branch, N.J. this fall.
