Kiwanis Softball After two Sundays of inactivity, the Court House Kiwanis softball team got back into action with a double-header vs the Whitesboro Recreation team at the Martin Luther King Recreation Center. Before a large number of Whitesboro fans, the Kiwanis took the both games by scores of 10-3 and 17-7. Winning pitcher was Bob Wilson, allowing only 9 hits. Batting stars were John Tomlin with 2 for 4. Donny Rhinesmith with 3 for 4, Dave May with 2 for 4, Richy Rhinesmith with 3 for 4. The outfield played errorless ball with only one miscue in the infield. For Whitesboro. losing pitcher Chuck Mcllvaine allowed 14 hits and 10 runs. Batting sta^as Matthews with a .500 ajerage and Joe Francis has a home run. The 2nd game was a lougher for the Kiwanis who jumped off with 4 runs in the 1st inning and coasted to a 17-7 win getting 21 hits with John Tomlin'. Joey Trombetta. Donny Rhinesmith. Dave May and Walt Trunier leading the attack. Big Bill Reasner held the Whitesboro sluggers in check and son George palyed the last two innings in right field. Leading batters for Whitesboro were McVane Mims and Farmer. The Whitesboro infield collapsed, making 6 errors. A return double-header is scheduled for Sunday Jul> 15th at Whitesboro.

Douglass Memorial Trophies to the best male and female athletes as selected by their fellow athletes were presented by Ella Doughty, former girls physical Lifesaving Course Offered CAPE MAY - Advanced Lifesaving Enrollments are being accepted for an American Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving Course to be conducted in July by , the Cape May Department of Public Relations and Recreation The course will be held at the Cape May Elementary School during the evening. There will be a $10 per student fee and all swimmers must be at least 15 years of age. To register, call 884-8411 ext. 20 or 27 or come to Convention Hall between June 18 22 ( 8:30-4:30p.m.).
