Wells Memorial Presbyterian

AVALON - The first Sunday School ever held in Avalon was held at the house of Colonel George W. Smith, February 10, 1889, Colonel and Mrs. Smith were the first managers of the Hotel Avalon which was built in 1888. With money and gifts from cottage owners in the North end of Avalon especially the Wells family a Presbyterian Church was erected in 1892. The Church was named the "Wells Memorial Presbyterian Church.” Since that time the Church has been serving summer residents in the Avalon-Stone HarborSea Isle City area. On June 10, the Wells Memorial Presbyterian Church will open it 87 season. This Church home—away fropjjiome is directed by a committee of property owners in Avalon most of whom have held

membership in Presbyterian churches and the pulpit if filled by' a number of Presbyterina ministers. The public is cordially invited to the services wich begin at 10 a m. every Sunday morning, June 10 through September 16. Ministers serving the summer of 1979are: June 10 to July 1. The Rev. Bruce G. COURT HOUSE - Guests for this Sunday will be our own missionaries reporting about their ministry in Kijabe, Kenya. Warren and Barbara Day and children. They have been on furlough for the past year from the "Rift Valley Academy". They are the son-in-law and daughter of members of Faith Fellowship Chapel, Richard and Jean Barras, Richard being a noted speaker on "Creation vs. Evolution." The Days were teaching in Kansas City during their stay here in the U.S.A. and will shortly return to their ministry in Kenya. Pastor Allen will continue with Sermon No. 8 in I

Peter series in the morning worship service. During the efening worship service. the Days will have the entire service. Wednesday - 7 p.m. Adult Prayer meeting and Bible study on prayer. Youth Prayer meeting in Room 205 followed by use of the gymnasium. Our Family Bible Hour has classes for all ages including nursery. Nursery is available for Sunday evening and We. Prayer meeting as well. All are welcome. We are an Independent Bible Church. Family Bible Hour 9:45 am. Morning Worship 11 a m. Evening Worship 7p.m. Wednesday Prayer Meeting 7 p.m.

RIO GRANDE-** A Biblical View of Money" will be the theme for the message at the 11a.m. Sunday worship service and will be delivered by the Rev. Guy L. Rathmell, pastor of Grace Gospel Chapel. Rio Grande. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages At the 7 p'.m. Sunday service, the pastor will speak on "Discovering False Teacher*?'. The chapel’s radio program "Sending Forth the "Gtospel Light" is heard $ach Tuesday evening at 6:30 over station WRIO-FMt 102.3) Prayer meeting is held on Wednesdays at 7 P.M. Bring the entire family for an evening of fellowship.

Adventure Time will be held Monday through Friday 9-11:30 am. beginning July 2 and concluding July 13 under the supervision of S^Cochran and Kay Jeffei7 of National Child Salvation. Children 5 years of age through Junior High School ore welcome to register. Activities will include Bible lessons and stories, games, handcraft, and music. When possible, parents are asked._ to provide transportation lor their children due to limlued bus service this yeaf. .Call 886-1044 or 7338.
