Gas Hotline Report

COURT HOUSE - The Cape May County Gasoline Hotline Service operated by the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Cape May County Board of Freeholders handled 6,869 calls during the month of June. The peak single day was Sunday, June 24 when 1,031 calls were answered. Since the odd-even and $5 and $7 minimum quanitity system went into effect, calls to the Hotline have tapered off. This past weekend June 30 and July 1 the Hotline handled 626 calls. However, since resort business is anywhere from 25-50% off there are less tourists in the area to use the service and gas is readily available with few if any waiting lines. The Cape May County
