STONE HARBOR — Ms Letitia Parks, noted local shell collector, will present a program in seashells and shelling on Saturday evenirtg, July 28 at 8; 15 at the Wetlands Institute on Stone Harbor Boulevard. The program will be in two parts. The first protion (with slides) will highlight shell animals and how they grow and feed; where and how to* collect, clean, preserve and arrange a collection, and tips on trading and exchanging shelLs worldwide. The second protion is designed to involve, and encourage childrens' natural curiosity And penchant for dbllecting, A
mini-collation of local shells and egg cases already identified will be distributed on a first come basis to the first 25 ' children. On display will be cases of shells from Ms. Parks' personal collection. A native of the Philadelphia area and a resident of Cape May County for 15 .years, Ms Parks is an accomplished fabric and glassware-china designer now specilaizing in custom needlepoint designs featuring shelld Ms. Parks has extensive knowledge of and en thusiasm for local shells. The public is cordially invited to attend and share their enthusiasm forshelLs.
Bloodmobile Visits
Red Cross is working especially hard this summer to collect and maintain and adequate blood supply for area hospital patients, said James Walsh. Blood Cahirman, Cape May County Chapter. American Red (Yoss All healthy people in the cunty have a responsibility to share their good health with those who arc less fortunate, he added Blood is a precious natural resource which can only be given by people for people.
