Wilson Exhibit At Art League
CAPE MAY - An exhibit of the works of Alice Steer Wilson will open at the Carriage House Galleries of the Cape May County Art League, 1050 Washington St., Cape May, with a reception beginning at 7:30 p.m Saturday. August 11. The public is invited to attend the reception, at which wine and cheese will be served.

Works on exhibit will include water color paintings of Cape May, oils and portraits. Mrs. Wilson has planned this exhibit. which willcorittpue throughout the month, as a tribute to Cape May and as a “ThankYou” to the many Cape May people who have commissioned her work over the past years Many items in the exhibit are on loan from their Cape May pwners. An impressive centerpiece for the show will be a five-generation protrait of the McPherson family of Wildwood. Mrs Wilson, who is also active in the Philadelphia area, is a member of the Pennslyvania Academy of the Fine Arts Fellowship; the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Lehigh Art Alliance; the Philadelphia Water Color Club; the Woodmere Art Gallery; the Society of New Jersey Artists; and the Cape May County Art League, where she is teaching classes this summer.
Uganda Lecture
CAPE MAY - On Friday. August 3 at 8:30 p.m. Roger Wood of Avalon will give an illustrated lecture entitled "Uganda . Land of Lakes” for the Cape May Geographic Society at the Victorian Towers Auditorium, Cape May. Wood is Associate Professor at Stocton State College in Zoology. He has done field work in East Arne's, South America, Western United States and Cape May County in studies of turtle behavior, ecology and fossil collecting. ► . The public is invited with I the- understanding that there will be a small chargeYor non-members of the Cape May Geographic Society. The next day. Saturday, August 4 Anne Galli will lead the Society and tyiends on a beach walk. Ms. Galli is Public Education Coordinator for the Wetlands Institute. She has a B.S. degree in Biology and Environmental Science and an M.f>. in Ecology. This walk will be an adventure for the family as they will explore the flotsam and jetsam, the flora and the fauna of the Bay Shore. Those interested in going on the walk may meet at the Cape May Elementary School at 9:30 a m. Rides will be provided for those without cars.
