WILDWOOD ART SHOW TERMED BIG SUCCESS...Thanks to a lot of hard work on the part of every member of the Planning Committee, the 1979 North Wildwood Art Show, held Saturday July 28th along Kennedy Drive was a success. Huge crowds were drawn to the event which featured thousands of paintings and other works of aft. Shown above is North Wildwood Mayor and Mrs. Anthony T. Calanoso, with Mrs. Albert Cooper (right) Chairman of the 1979 Art Show. The purchase prize for the City of North Wildwood was painted by Walter Cichocki. It was entitled "Masted Schooner".
Concerts At Central Bible
N. WILDWOOD - Two special musical events will be hetd this week at Central Bible Church. 18th and Central Aves in North Wildwood. On Sunday night Doris Forbes will be singing a mini-concert in the evening service at 7 p.m.. and on Friday night. Religious Workshop AVALON — Miss Regina Collins. Principal of St. Rose of Lima School. Haddon Heights, will coordinate a faculty of three Immaculate Heart Sisters at Maris Stella Auditorium, Avalon. There will be 10 sessions during the week of Aug. 20. Each morning from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Monday through Friday, there will be five sessions. Each evening from 7:30 to 9 there will be five sessions. To register, please call Maris Stella Rectory. 9673746. Anyone in the area is welcome to attend.
Aug. 17. the New Dawn Singers will be giving their concert at 7:30 p.m. A third special event wUI take place on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. when we will be hearing a presentation by the Schneider family who are missionaries to France. Please join us in these functions, and we invite you to attend either the 8:30 or 11 a.m. morning worship services on Sunday. Church School is at 9:45
Maris Stella Meeting .AVALON - All interested "members of the Maris Stella R.C. Church. W’d First Pres WILDWOOD - “Jesus and the Problem of Kingship" is the subject of the sermon of the Reverend J. Robert Durway at the 10 a.m. service of the First Presbyterian Church of Wildwood. The sermon text is John 6:1-15 on this Tenth Sunday after Pentecost. The church is located near Convention Hall at Burk and Pacific Avenues. AVALON - As Avalon's first "Family Day” on August 25 draws closer, entries are being sought in the essay and poster contest. Prizes for both contests will be awarded August 25 at 2 p.m. for the winning entries. The Essay contest is open to three age groups: 11 years and under; 12to 16 years: 17 and over. Works must be original work of the contributor with the theme "International Year of the Child”. They must be at least 125 words in length. 1 but no longer than 250 words. All entries must be typed or written in ink. Judges will be looking for originality and creativity as well as grammatical correctness and spelling. Deadline for the essay contest will be 4:30 p.m. August 17 with all entries being delivered to the Avalon Chamber of Commerce Office, 30th Street and Ocean Drive. Winner’s work will be published in a local weekly newspaper. The Poster contest has two age groups: 5-8; and 914 with the theme, “International Year of the Child”. All entries must be submitted on 22 x 28 poeterboard suppled by the Borough and available from the Community Hall,
