Faith Fellowship Essays, Poster Contest
N. W’d United Methodist N. WILDWOOD - The Rev. John M. Long, pastor of the North Wildwood United Methodist Church, Second and Central Avenues, will speak oh a vacation theme, “The Vista from a Distant Place” at the 11 a.m. worship hour this Sunday. Robert W. Wirtz conducts the popular hymnsing beginning at 10:45 accompanied by Jane Holley, organist and John Evans, visiting pianist from the Third Moravian Church in Philadelphia. Sunday School age children may attend the school held at the same 11 a.m. hour under the tutelage of Mrs. Gertrude Ilg. All are invited.

WILDWOOD - “Implications of the Kingship of Jesus for the Christian Community” is the topic of the sermon of the Reverend J. Robert Durway at the 10 a.m. service of the First Presbyterina Church this Sunday. The church is at Burk and Pacific Avenues, near Convention Hall,in Wildwood. Entrance to offstreet parking is from Pacific Avenue, as is the entrance to the air conditioned sanctuary. Visitors and summer residents are welcome to worship with the congregation and make this their thwrciv home while on the island.
Grace Gospel RIO GRANDE - The Rev. Guy L. Rathmell, pastor, will preach on the subject “Looking at God” at the 11 a.m. worship service in Grace Gospel Chapel, Rio Grande, next Sunday. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. At the 7 p.m. evening/ service, the pastor will' speak on the topic "A Response to God". The chapel’* radio program "Sending Forth the Gospel Ught" is heard each Tuesday evening at 6:30 over sta tion WRIO-FM (102.3). Prayer meeting is held on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Bring the entire family for an evening of fellowship. The public is invited to attend all services.

Covenant Bible Crucified King,” is the theme of the 11 a.m. worship service of the Covenant Bible Church, located on Fishing Creek Road near Bayshore Road in North Cape May, according to the pastor, Dr. George Fincke. "The church of Jesus Christ is really a gathered body of gatherers whose mission is to make Christ known. The Bible teaches a centripital view of missions - the nations are called to come into the Kingdom. God’s people need to know the true purpose of the church,” the pastor said. For those unable to attend, the service is broadcast over WCMC, AM (1230) and FM (100.7). At the 7 p.m. service, Dr. Fincke speaks on "Where Is Your Faith?” The service is carried over WRIO-FM, 102.3. The weekly call-in program over WRIO-FM, Sunday at 10 p.m., will be hosted by Dr. Fincke and the assistant pastor, George B. Fincke. listeners are urged to ask questions about Bible, or to seek help with personal problems. Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. is praise, prayer and Bible study. The topic this week is, "What do the Mormons believe?” at 8 p.m., the senior choir will rehearse under the direction of Rev. G. Otto Underwood. Each Sunday a family Bible School Is held at 9:45 a.m., with classes for each age group. Transportation is provided by calling 8863475. Douglas Hansen, senior student at the Reformed Episcopal Seminary is the Superintendent. "I’m delighted to see parents bringing their children with them each week," Hansen declared. "Adults are showing a genuine interest in learning what the Bible has to say." Covenant Bible Church believes the Bible to be the verbally inspired Word of God - the only rule of faith (what we are to believe) and practice (how we are to live.) A supervised nursery is held at all services, and there is ample parking orh -the lighted church lot. Deadline for the essay contest is 4:30 p.m. August 17 with all entries being delivered to the Avalon Chamber of Commerce office at 30th Street and Ocean Drive. Winner's work will be published in a local newspaer. Posters will be displayed the week of August 20 in various places in the Borough. Family Day in Avalon will replace the Baby Parade as the number one summertime festivity on the island. The day’s events are under the direction of the Aval oh Recreation Committee and the Avalon Recreation Department.
