MHS Yard Sale COURT HOUSB'- On August 18, the senior class of Middle Township High School is sponsoring a combination Yard Sale and Flea Market. All proceeds will go towards offsetting the cost of their senior trip. The affair will be held in the parking lot of the new School Administration building on route 9, just south of the center of Cape may Court House, and will run from 9a.m. to4 p.m. PTA Fun Fair W. CAPE MAY - The annual West Cape May school P.T.A. "Fun Fair" will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 25, in Wilbraham Park, at Broadway and Perry St., West Cape May. The fiar will feature hay rides, hand made items, white elephants, hto dogs and soda, baked goods, games, and many other exciting things. Shade Tree Comm. Meet W. CAPE MAY - The Shade Tree Commission of West Cape May will hold its regular business meeting Thursday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the new Borough Hall. Seashore Encounters (From Page 6) water, but they soon encountered the floating ice and slush which slowed the waves considerably. This process was so effective that almost all the waves disappeared in the iceslush zone before they ever reached the ice wall, and the ice and slush simply undulated like the "waves" in a bathtub. As an added bonus, sand carried by the waves was locked in the icy deposits, and when the ice and snow melted away, the sand was left behind on the beaches. What a way to build a beach! In spite of all the problems caused by the cold, snowy winter, in the ice wall and ocean slash we actually had something working for us. Much like what took place two years ago, frigid winter weather was instrumental in helping us ride out typical off-season beach erosion. Back in February there was plenty of complaining to be heard about the snow and the cold; do I hear any takers now?!
