Cops Vs. Robbers Game Benefit MS
COURT HOUSE - The Officers of the Cape May County Correctional Center and a group of concerned inmates are sponsoring a softball game to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, To make this unique charitable event a
success we need your help. The game will be played on Sunday, August 26, at l p m. at the Correctional Center Softball Field. Crest Haven Road. Court House. AH of the money raised from this event will be used to help children with
Muscular Dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases in the South Jersey area. The Sheriff’s Department believes that this is a worthwhile cause. But. as Jerry Lewis might say. “We Need You." All contributions or donations are tax deductible and will be acknowledged by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. If you would like to help out with ticket sales or promotion, please give me a call at the correctional center (465-7911). We certainly will appreciate whatever you can do. For further information contact William Fisher or the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 646-2104. Pie Eating ^Contest A pie-eating contest was recently held at the Big Timber Lake Campgroung. The trick was to eat a blueberry pie covered with whipped cream without using one’s hands. Naturally it was a sloppy affair. The contest was conducted by Gail Owens of Phila. who runs the games for the campground. The Winner's were: YOUNGER CLASS Ages 8 and under 1. Buddy Harvey, Camden; 2. Kim Vissuskus, Wappinger Falls, NY. OLDER CLASS Age 9 and over 1. Danny Helmig. South Phila., Pa.; 2. Lisa Konschak, Millville, N.J. Other contests are held each day for the youngsters and a weekly bulletin is issued each w§ek listing the programs for the week.
