Dr. Phillip Edgecomb from the N.J. Vocational Educational Curriculum Laboratory will serve as educationar consultant for the workship along with project director Peter Carey, Vo-Tech Assistant Principal; Patricia Donovan and Thomas Marks, District Student Services Com-dinators; James O’Hafa, Career Center Assistant Principal; and Susan Smith, Career Center Principal. The goal of the workshop will be the development and refinement of learning activities to be im-,

such as the importance of working cooperatively with other people, and getting to work on time. In addition, they will practice decisionmaking skills that will be useful throughout their

lifetime.

The grant totaling $11,450 will enable the development of career exploration activities combined with “hand-on" vocational training in eight clusters: Business and Distributive Occupations, Communication & Media Occupations, Construction Industry Occupations, Health Occupations, Mechanical Occupations, Service Occupations, and Technical Occupations.

unique job market in Cape May County, and the program will give the students the opportunity to make a more systematic & satisfactory career

If is anticipated that the Career Center concept will become a model for other counties in New Jersey and for other area vocational schools throughout the country.
