ACC Cultural Series Atlantic Community College will present 20 plays, movies and other attractions during the 197&80 cultural Series. AH events are free and open to the public, and will be held in the auditorium of Walter E. Edge Hall on the Mays Landing campus. There are no admission tickets and reserved seating. Reservations are not accepted. The 19TO40 season will open Saturday, Sept. 8 with the film "Guys and Dolls," a musical comedy based on Damon Runyon's play. The film stars Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, Jean Simmons and Vivian Blaine. Other movies scheduled for the series include "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner," Sept. 22, “The Haunting," Oct. 6, and "The Maltese Falcon," starring Humphrey Bogart, Dec. 15. Three movies, "Lawrence of Arabia," Jan. 26; “The Big Store," a Marx brothers’ comedy, Feb. 9, and "Oliver." and Academy Award winning musical. April 9, are scheduled. All screenings will be on Saturdays at 8 p.m. The season’s first "live" production will be presented Saturday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. when the Manhattan Savoyards make their fifth appearance at ACC, performing Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta, "Naughty Marietta.” Theater performances Include "If Every Fool," a presentation of the clown, mime and circus, Saturday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m., the Chamber Theatre Production of "Tell Tale Poe," Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m., "Star Trekking with Scotty," featuring James Doohan, Star Trek television show personality, Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m., and "An Evening with Mark Twain,” starring .Will Stutts, Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. i ACC Creative Arts Department will present theatrical productions, to be selected later, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 810 and March 20-22 with each performance beginning at 8 p.m. The ACC Orchestra and Chorus will offer their 14th annual Winter Concert, Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. Spring concerts will feature the chorus, Sunday, April 26 at 4 p.m. and the Orchestra, Sunday. May 3 at4p.m. Other musical events include the "Magic of Broadway," a potpourri of Broadway show tunes featuring Denise Coffey and William Auston, and magician Craig Collis, Saturday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. Speakers include author Sam Love discussing "Visions of Tomorrow" Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. Persons can receive free reminders about coming events in the 1979-80 Cultural Series. Each month between August and April persons on the mailing list will receive a card informing them of the following month's events.
