The Avalon Recreation Department sponsors the Quilting Class every Monday evening beginning in July. AVALON-Cheif Joseph E Foley announces that the Avalon Police Department Detective Division will be conducting a Home { Security Program, which will commence September 15. This program will be available to all home owners and renters. The program will consist of a thorough inspection of your residence for the purpose of properly securing it. Recommendations will be given to the residents as to types of locks and preventive measures against unlawful entry into their property. To apply for this program, stop in at Police Headquarters, 3088 Dune Drive, where forms are available. After-completing forms, interested persons will be contacted by a member of

Avalon Women’s GOP Club AVALON - The Avalon Women's Republican Gub will hold the first regular monthly meeting of the fall season at the Whitebrier Hotel at noon Tuesday, September 4. On this occasion, the new officers will be installed. A choice of chicken salad or crab quiche will be offered. For reservations, ladies must call Ruth Spencer before Sept. 1.

Bird Carving Show ‘ At Wetlands
STONE HARBOR - South Jersey harbors many talented bird carvers, several of which hold national and world titles. The Wetlands Institute is spotlighting this local talent and the special birdlife of the area Saturday, September 1, in the Second Annual South Jersey Bird Carvers Show to be held at the Institute, Stone Harbor BWd. Middle Township. Woo.d carvings of waterfowl, shorebirds and birds of prey will be featured as well as wildlife drawings and paintings. The artists will exhibit their works from 10 aim. to
