Avalon’s Firsf Borough Administrator Takes Office

Gospel Businessmen Meet

AVALON - Bernard E Grady. Avalon’s first Borough Administratbr began work at his new position Monday, August 20. Grady's managerial control will reach nearly every phase of Borough government except for Public Works and the Police Department. The job of the Avalon Administrator begin early with the doors open at 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. Some of tha daparlments over whichjffiady will oversee anw Finance, PurchasingiT’ Budget, Recreation, ubdes, Tax Collection Engineering Administrator, they may do so by contacting the Borough Hall at 967-8200. If a personal visit is more in keeping with the occasion, Grady's office is located next to the office of Mayor Ellsworth Armacost in the south wing of the Borough Hall. The Avalon borough Council appointed Grady to

the post in early July after screening many applicants for the position. "We feel fortunate to have such a qualified individual who knows and appreciates our Borough", said Stewart Gray, Council President. Prior to assuming the role of Avalon Borough Administrator, Grady was with the New Castle County government in Pennsylvania and has been a summer resident in Avalon for several years, and owned property here.
