PUBLIC SPIRITED — John Rnthmann, 88 years old. is shown receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from Avalon Mayor Ellsworth Armacost recently. Mr. Rothmann singlehandedly cleans the streets, sidewalks, driveways and beaches of 78th Street in the Borough of Avalon. “I wish I had about two dozen more like him" said Mayor Armacost. Also with Mr. Rothamnn are Second District Committeepeople Bill and Ann Crowley. Looking on are Mr. Rothmann's neighbors who appreciate the work he does and affectionately call him "Grandpop".
