oriented, yet her forceful vocals and rocking backing give them mogppunch than the avcrjpe singersong writer, rape complaint, though, is h«| band sounds the same on every cut, allowing a bland feeling to seep in. Carly Sirtion’s music is never adventurous or very unique, but she knows how to satisfy her following, which is something a lot of performers wish they could do. Moon Martin’s debut was quite a treat, once getting by his low-key approach. ’’Escape From Domination" (Capitol) is further proof this man is destined to be one of the more important songwriters of the 80’s. His material is strong on melody, while his lyrics tell i/fteresting tales. Martin’s •"Voice is friendly, not forceful, and his band tight, without being overly aggressive. It’s simple, straight forward rock and roll. Moon Martin is an entertaining fellow, who should soon be racking up ' some hits. An album worth writing for is The Remains’. The Remains were one of the best American bands in the mid-sixties. They toured with The Beaties and were on Ed Sullivan, yet the hits never came. . Today, an original pressing of their lone album is worth a great deal of money tocollectors. But, Spoonfed (21544 Rambla Vista, Malibu, CA. 90265) has been kind enough to reissue it. The Remains played an R&B inspired rock, with strong traces of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. They had consistent material, especially "Don’t Look Back,” and a fine lead singer in Barry Tashian. It’s sad to think a band as talented as The Remains could fail. But, arleast, thanks to companies like Spoonfed, the music lives
