The Herald And The Lantern
Ocean & Bay Soundings < From Page 4) The water was warm enough, so it didn’t hurt me, but it’s the first time I’ve gone fishing, and wound up with a dip in the water before leaving the dock. I was kind of embarrased talking about it, but it didn’t take long for the word to get out any way, and all week long I’ve had various suggestions about how to step on the gunwales of a boat, and not go overboard. Joe Roop was just getting ready to leave on his boat the "Wow”, and he said his son pointed over to where we were, and said, "Dad, someone just went overboard off that red boat." He didn't know ’til Tuesday that it was me. It’s ironic though, that everyone I told the tale to either told me about how it happened to them, or how they have seen it happen. We did get a good day for fishing, though, and after a bum start, we wound up real good. I believe that every boater should take heed of this story, and be careful around their boat, because its just not as ? 4uch fun fishing all day in oaking wet clothes.

Both pitchers had leaky support in the field but the Hornet’s infield came up with 4 double plays, which saved the game. For the Robbers, Poston made' some spectacular catches intheoutfiekl. But the feature of the game was the awesome power of the Hornets, who clouted 5 home runs, two each by Mike McLaughlin and one by John Tomlin.
