II is time to bring up again the controversial subject of who was the best, or "winnlngest” coach of Middle Twp. High At ihe tip from Mike Vistenzo. who ^aid that Tom Chist. successful coach in 1946-47. was in town for a brief visit recently, the subject now should be brought ul/again.
Mike feels that Wilbur Clark should be included in the .consideration. He coached way back in the 30's and 40's even before the Old Sport’s time, but he, was still coaching at Ocean City when the Old Sport arrived on the scene in 1946. So. we have the following candidates: 1. Coach Gark, Tom
Crist, some one named Crensevich who coached for 6ne short season. Dick Luttrdll, Fred Grease. Supporters for Coach Crist include former players Ernie Boss. A1 Garrison. John Roberson. For Coach Luttrell, Herb and Bob Mossbrooks, Bob Bakley, Neil Garke. For Coach Grosse, Bob Penkethman, Bill Albrecht, Bemie Blanks, Ronnie Thompson. Anyone , for Coach
Crensevich?
The Old Sport‘would^lijce to hear from football authorities like Goose Doughty. Jake Wright, etc. for their opinions. If you don't see the Old Sport in, his peregrinations

Coach Bill Penman of the Middle Twp. Girls Basketball team is drooling! For two reasons: 1. Veronica Thorhpson, sister of- Rewi, is an exchange student from New Zealand, who just happens to be every bit as good in girls’ basketball as Rewi is in boys’. With this addition to his returning varsity team it looks like Middle could win the Cape Atlantic league this year and end Ocean Gty’s domination of
girls’ basketball.
2. The Court House Kiwanis Club has agreed to sponsor his girls’ Christman tournament to be held on Dec. 26-28 at M.T.H.S.
DRESS UP
FOR WINTER!
The Old Sport has to retract his statement that Denny Anderson will coach basketball at the Middle School and install Chick Ludman's program at this level. The Old Sport got the tip straight from yhe horse’s mouth, but the nag must have been on Cloud Nine, because the School
must be advertised aJR* they will select the best possible coach for the job. Maybe Denny will be back with the freshman team!

Observed scouting the Middle^ football team at the Mainlapd Scrimmage were Greg Tracy and Mike Cournot, who coach J.V. for Wildwood and Freshman basketball at Wildwood High. If they art'as knowledgeable about football as they arc basketball, they should be a big help to new coach Don
Reith.
+++ Celebrities seen .at the Middle-Mainland ‘ scrimmage were propd parents Bill Tomlin (Jeff), Don and -Marianne Phinesmith (Donny), Nick and Sheila Nichols (Chris), Dutch Arenberg (Danny).
