COURT HOUSE - Over 10,000 Cape May County Republicans flocked to the County Park Sept. 16 to eat Chicken, play games and meet the GOP candidates on the local and state level. “It makes me realize just how onuch the local volunteers mean to the County Republican Organization*" said Phillip Matalucci, County Party Chairman. "Over 300 of these people spent more than two hours setting up the park r and getting everything ready for this

Over 10,000 enjoyed barbecued chicken, steamed com and sliced tomatoes, free sodas, coffee and cookies while listening to music by three

different bands.

"I was extremely happy to see folks from every municipality in Cape May County from Ocean City to Cape May Point"

Matalucci said.

"This means that people still enjoy the old fashioned family picnic and from the hundreds of people who talked to me Sunday afternoon. nearly all expressed the hope that the Republicans would continue with their programs and at the same time keep a watchful eye on spending here in Cape May County," Matalucci commented. Getting out to see the candidates was one of the many reasons <why. many attended this fe^fve event, and the candffees were there shaking ffimds and getting to Irnow the problems that are on the minds of the electorate. Those seeking re-election to the State Assembly Joseph Chinnicci and James Hurley were there as well as County Freeholder candidate Jack Bittner. Local candidates also were getting familiar
