AVALON — The Cocker Spaniel will be fealured in a specialty show next
week.
Blacks. Black and Tare. Reds into Silver Buffs. Black and White. Red and White and the Tri-Colors will be shown at the 25th Anniversary Specialty Show October 7. in the Avalon Community Hall. Avalon. Exhibitors will come from the entire eastern sfeaboard with outstanding champions Mr. Robert R. Reedy will judge the regular classes and Miss Alice Barnes will judge the puppies.
Judging will start at 9 am and continue throughout the dav until the climax of the show when the best in breed will be selected. Everyone in the area is welcome.'The Southern New Jersey Cocker Spaniel Club is bringing this show Iwre for the first time to meet many requests. The club hopes that all Spaniel lovers and dog lovers in general take advantage of this great
occasion.

Civil Defense Offers Courses
COURT HOUSE - The * Cape May County Office of Civil Defense is offering two separate training courses in Basic Radiological Monitoring during the month of October. One course will involve three night sessions, from 7-10 p.m each night. Dates for this course are: Tuesday. October 16: Thursday. October 18: and Tuesday, October 23. The other course will be covered in a single all-day session with an hour's break for lunch. The date is Saturday. October 20. from 9a.m. to4:30p.m. St. Simeon’s Rummage Sale N WILDWOOD - The Episcopal Church Women of St. Simeon’s Church will hold their fall "Rummage Sale" Tues. and Wed. Oct. 9 and 10from9a.m. to3p.m. Also on Thurs Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at 25th and Central Ave.. No. Wildwood. All kinds of household articles and clothing.
Both courses will be held at the County Civil Defense Emergency Operating Center located in the basement of the County Library-Office Building. Mechanic Street, 'Cape May Court House Subiects covered will include wartme activities and the proper handling of peacetime radiation incidents involving the transportation of radioactive materials, and the courses are especially recommended for rescue squads and other public safety services. Subject material is the same for both courses. The subjects will be taught by the County’s Radioiogical Defense Officers, all of whom have undergone special training given by Lowell Univer-
sity.
Any interested member of the public is welcome to lake either of these courses, for which there is no charge. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. For further information aqd application forms, the County Office may be called at 465-9408. from 9 to 4. Monday through Friday.

Susan Griffith Sloan to Dr. Richard Alan Sundberg of San Diego. California, son of Mrs. C.K. Sundberg and the late Mr. Sundberg of Cedar Rapids, iowa. \ Miss Slokn is a graduate of Lower Merion High School, Penn State
University and Villanova University. She is currently employeo by Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr Stmdberg is a graduate of the University of Iowa and Creighton Medical School. He is presently enrolled in the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at the University of California in San Diego. A December wedding is planned in SausaiTto, California.

Tickets for the House Tours are $8 for one day. $15 for both days. Each house that is open to the public will fly a bright, orange banner on the day of the tour. ( A Sunday nigltt concert of Bejamin Britten’s Saint Nicolas will be performed by the Margate Community Church Chorus at the Episcopal Church of the Advent. The Church is located at Franklin and Washington Streets.
Admission is $3.
The concert will be followed by a new feature in this year’s Victorian weekena—$n evening Stained Glass Tour. The tour will start a4 9 axn. Sundav in front of the Church of the Advent. A guide>will lead the tour in to another century as they stoll along the gaslighted streets and examine many of the lovely, colored glass panels that various home owners have lighted from the inside to celebrate the event. The route will pass by transen windows featuring the house number worked into the design and ruby
glass that achieves its brilliant color by mixing gold dust into the glass.' Churches along the tour will Hght their massive windows for a special treat. In addition, the ruby glass from the tower of the famed McGreery home removed years ago. will be on display in the lobby of the tower. Next year the panels will be restored to their original position in
the tower.
Several clear glass entrance doors with elaborate bevelling and etching will also be featured on the walk The stained glass tour will wind along Hughes. Columbia. Decatur. Perry and Jackson Streets. Monday morning the , first Run For Preservation
will kick off at Convention Hall. Two and five mile runs will wind through the city’s picturesque historic
district.
Other events planned for the busy weekend include a showing of the 1944 suspense film "Gaslight" starring Ingrid Bergman. Charles Boyer and Joseph Cotton with an appropriate Victorian theme, a Victorina fashion show and cocktail party at the Emlen Physick House, special lunches and brunches an open house on the Coast Guard Cutter "Alert" and a dusk cruise around the Cape on the boat "Big Jim." i Proceeds from all events will go toward restoration of the Emlen Physick House on Washington Street, the home of MAC.

WILDWOOD - |500 worth" of prizes will go to the first place winner from a total of $2,000 in prizes in the First Annual Greater Wildwood Surf Fishing Tournament scheduled to take plgce along the Wildwood beachfront Octobers,Oandv This fishing conte*t is expected to draw several thousand East Coast Fishermen to the Five Mile Beach, long famed for its
great fishing.
Fishermen who want to be a part of this exciting tournament will have to pay a $1 entrance fee. If a vehicle will be taken on beachfront, there will be a $5 permit fee. All such vehicles must meet the specifications for the North ‘Wildwood beach. Beach 'entrance will be allowed only at 15th St. and at
Lavender road.
