Private Industry Council Formed $2 M FAA Grant Sought For Airport

Private Industry Council has recently been established in conjunction with the federally funded Private Sector Initiative Program The council consists of local businessmen, community representatives, labor representatives and local educators. The prime function of the council is to assist and serve the Private Sector, Employer
of Cape May County.
| The Cape May County ^Private Industry Council is prepared to offer assistance in a variety of
ways: through On-the-Job-Training subsidies, subsidized Training Programs tailored to meet the needs of specific industries within the county, providing specific information on state and federal programs available to the Private Sector, the development of apprenticeships or highskilled training programs and numerous supportive services as allowed in accordance with PSIP
Guidelines.

Much is being accomplished due to the creation of the Airport Manager s Office headed by Mr. Robert A. Laws, the non-pa id Airport Manager, who we now have dealing directly with the Federal Aviation Administration and our Engineering Consultant on all matters pertaining to Airport Safety and Security, Development and Operations, explained Catanoso. Other members of the Airport Manager's Staff consist of a full-time development planner, Mr. Andrew J. Bednarek, formally with the County Economic Development Commission, whose responsibility is to see to the development and implementation of the 30 year Airport Master Plan and other capital improvement programs that take place in the Airport complex; and two secretaries, both employed under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) Program.
