Water Rate Increases For Stone Harbor

STONE HARBOR - A new schedule of water rates effective Jsn. 1, i960 has been developed to

cover a budget predicted over the next three years from Jan. 1,1960 to Dec. 31, 1982. There is no surplus from the years 1979-79 as all available funds have been used for the 80th St. Well; 92nd St. Well repairs

and the n^w water tower. Some of the reasons for the change in rates are the increased , cost of electricity, labor and materials; the depletion of any surplus funds for emergency repairs and the payment of interest and finance charges on the bond issue for the new

water tower.

For a majority of homeowners the increase will be $4.50 quarterly; for other accoutns, increases will range from $5.50 to $38.75 quarterly. Billing procedures will remain the same except for condominium owners. They will be charged $14 quarterly, with con-

dominium association being billed for any excess. / Charges for repairs and new installations have been revised and are available, upon reouast, from the borough dark. A letter advising consumers of these chaises will be mailed in November.
