The remarks of Gregg Arnold, Middle Twp. Recreation Director followed. Arnold gave credit to Jack Schafer and Art Shivers for the transformation of the "Ugly Duckling" the former Quonset hut. That such a pragmatic building could be transformed into the present, beautiful building is a credit to the Recreation Commission and to the ^ision of the young, energetic recreation director, Penn State graduate Gregg Arnold. The ugly concrete floor was covered with plywood, old pipes were removed and the interior and exterior given a complete paint job. The second floor is a storage area for all the Commission's athletic equipment. The back half of the building contains a commercial size, pingpong table, a pool table and a hockey. game. And. to compiete the beautiful interior is an indooroutdoor carpet which absorbs the noise and blends inwith the warm decor of thfe structure. Restrooms are there for the convenience of the
public.
Besides the en-^ tertainment of the youngsters, the community center will provide a place for instruction in arts and crafts and a meeting place for senior citizens. The May family was represented by Mrs. LeRoy
