Pee-Wee Basketball Sign-Ups Scheduled

CAPE MAY - The Cape May Department of Public Relations and Recreation has started a 'fast-break' toward its goal of making the annual Peewee and Junior basketball leagues for youths between eight

and 14 years of age bigger and better than ever. The Peewee league for eight to 11 year olds and the junior league for 12 to 14 year olds will begin league play Saturday, Dec. 8. Sign-ups, try-outs and the

formation of teams will be done on consecutive Saturdays, Nov. 17 and 24 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at the Cape May City Elementary School. For further information, call 884-8411 ext. 20 or 27.

Colonial House Tours Open CAPE MAY — The Colonial House, circa 1775, a project of the Greater Cape May Historical Society, at 853V4 Washington St., adjacent to City Hall, is opend for tours while the restoration work is in progress. The house is open weekdays - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. Colonial House note paper is for sale at the house.

George “Ducky” Feild, Virginia Military Institute Class of 1930, a resident of Stone Harbor, New Jersey, was inducted into the VMI Sports Hall of Fame November 3 in Lexington. Feild was a wrestler for the Keydets and was one of the few men ever to serve as team captain twice, both as a junior and as a senior. VMI shared the Southern Conference title in Feild’s junior year, when he lost but once, that on a close
