AVALON - Nov. IS has been proclaimed the day of the Great American Smoke-Out in the Borough of Avalon. The proclamation, signed by Mayor Ellsworth Arm*cost was signed Oct. 26 at a regular meeting of the Borough Council. Reading the proclamation aloud the Mayor stated, "I urge all cigarette smokers in the community to demonstrate to themselves and their friends that they can quit smoking if they try” The Great American Smokeout is sponsored by the American Cancer Society which urges all smokers to "Give up their S.H. Rescue Squad r Tupperware Party STONE HARBOR - A Tupperware display party, open to the public, will be held Sunday,'Nov. 18, 2-4 pm. at the Stone Harbor Firehouse meeting room, 96th and Second Aves. The event will benefit the Stone Harbor Rescue Squad. Refreshments will be served. All purchases will be delivered in time for Christmas.
