Youth Receive 4-H
COURT HOUSE - One hundred 4-H leaders, parents and members were in attendance at the Annual 4-H Awards dinner held recently at the Lockwood 4H Youth Center. After enjoying the covered dish dinner 4-H members were presented with achievement medals for outstanding 4-H club work in a variety of areas. Assisted by the County 4H Queen Kathy Sturm, 4-H Youth Council President, Gloria Unkle, and 4-H n\embe,r. Missy Rea, County 4-H Agent Betty Jean jAuncosky presented the flowing awards. County medals for arts and crafts: Dawn Dickinson, Lolli ftea and Kelley Robbins; achievement: Karen Kapp, Brenda Taylor, Curt Kubiak and Bobby Calkins; public speaking: Kathy Sturm and Kelly Ward; bread: Kelly Bailey; dog care: Michelle Ewing and Chuck Thomson; clotljing: Danette O’Ryan; citizenship; Dawn Dickinson and Kelly Ward; health: Missy Rea; dress revue: Missy Rea and Danette O’Ryan; gar-
dening: Missy Rea; foods ' and nutrition; Susan Steenland; horse: Wendy Calkins, Kelley Robbins, Francine Kajander, and Nancy Rothenbiller; leadership: Danette O'Ryan and Nancy Rothenbiller; sheep: Wendy Calkins and Charlie Taylor; swine: Phil Hutchinson, and rabbit: Lori Heavener. Also year end high point horse show awards were presented b'’ Horse Council President Margie Hermanns. Those winning ribbons and silver trays were: High Point Western: Grand Champion, Barbara Schick; Reserve Grand Champion, Kathy Sturm; third place, Curt Kubiak, fourth place, Kelly Sparks, fifth place, Donna Schick and sixth place, Karen Rothenbiller. Awards program, prizefr’for thosg selling candy in the recent 4-H candy sale were also given. First place prize of a IO-speed bicycle for selling 4-H candy sale were also given. First place prize of a 10-speed bicycle for selling the most candy bars went to David Bailey of Goshen with the runner-up prize of disco roller skates awarded to Lynne Farrow of Cape May Court House.
AARP Sets Xmas Dinner c6urt house - Middle Township A.A.R.P. will %Jold its annual Christmas dinner Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church Hall in Court House. Starting at 11 a.m. the Middle Township High School Choir will entertain with an hour long program of Christmas music in the church. This portion of the program is open to the general public especially those who enjoy good singing.
