Middle Optimists Elect Officers AVALON - The Middle Township Optimist Club recently installed newly elected officers at a dinner at the Whitebrier Restaurant. Optimist New Jersey District Governor Carl C. Baker conducted the installation of officers: Doug Griffin, President. William Zeiss, Jr. and Norman E. Gabriel, Vice Presidents. Also installed were directors Ron Khidzuweit, Allan Richardson, Rau Batz, Bill Watson, Oscar Updike and Robert Hentges. Bob Wells was appointed to serve as Secretary-Treasurer for his fourth term. Middle Optimists are continuing to help youngsters; conducting driver and bike safety courses. Youth Appreciation Week, Oratorical contests. Spelling Bee contests, high school dances and scholarship awards.
