SANTA CLAUS was on hand in Avalon recently to greet some of the borough youngsters, while Mayor Ellsworth Armacost looked on. However the infant in Santa’s arms, oblivious to the surroundings, was content to have visions of sugar plums dancing in its head.

The 378 residential checks and 1,341 business checks make up the largest portion of acUvity for November. This watchful eye helps to keep weatherrelated damage reported fo property owners and helps keep the crime rate low. While making their November rounds Borough police traveled 8,875 miles and consumed 862 gallons

of gasoline.

Police rendered seven sick assists by ambulance and police car. In addition they made 50 bank checks and made 68 motor vehicle

Accident-wise November 1 was marred by two motor vehicle mishaps. Eleven motor vehicle summons were issued and a single parking violation was

issued.

The report shows 21 investigations for damage to property and 130 minor incidents handled within the Department. A single Juvenile was handled within the Department. Three criminal arrests were made for the month. None were drug or noise

related.

Five warning alarms brought response by police and two fires were an-

swered by volunteer

firemen and police.
