Greetings to
those who learn to acheive greater goals, and to those
who teach the way."
This was the sign that greeted me as I entered the Career Center of the Cape May County Vocational School last Monday night. This beautiful quotation gave me the theme that I

Eagle Scout
Grace and Eagle Kevin F. Matthews were honored there that night on acbeiving the highest honor a young man can earn in the Boy Scouts of America. Jeffs Grandad Andy Grace, Fred Meta, and I had spent a lot of time back in the M’s with an Explorer Post in Cape May Court House that was sponsored by the local Kiwanis Chib; and from this post evolved some fine young men-no finer a young man was produced from this group than Robert Grace, who is now Scoutmaster of Troop 56 in Deimisville. Bob has led these boys to the fulfillment of every scouts desire, and in doing so repaid all of the work we had put in down in the

COURT HOUSE - Tennis fans at the Jersey Cape Club witnessed another nailbiting thriller Dec. 11 for a town team tennis clash between Mike Mullen’s Shawcrest squad and Roni Zane's team representing Neil’s Steak 'House. The match went down to the final mixed doubles event in which Neil's Bob Heidorn and Roni Zane btfcsted Shawcrest's Ted Ferrante and Anja Smith by an 8-3 score thus insuring a hard fought 27-24 triumph for
Neff's.
The opening match of the night pitted Shawcrest’s Don Reich against Neil’s Lee Jones. Both jnen played aggressive hard hitting tennis which featured blistering serves and fierce volleys at the net. When the smoke had finally cleared Reich emerged the victor with a well earned 8-3 decision. Neil's bounced back to , regain the lead behind the strong performance of Jackie Smith who defeated Shawcrest’s Miriam Hirch by an 8-4 count. Zane's team widened their lead ' with an impressive 8-1 triumph in men's doubles. Lee Jones and Bill Saurman played for Neil's while Roy Smith and Bob Ansel I took the loss for Shawcrest. But Shawcrest *s Diana Shaw and Barbara Kelly exorted on by coach Mullen, responded with an impressive 8*3 thumping of Neil’s Marc Bauman and Joan Hughes in womans doubles action and thus kept the outcome in doubt until the final event was completed. : Tm sorry I veered so far off fishing, but there are times In these writings when I have to cover other fields that are just as
important.
My congratulations to Jeff and Kevin: may you men wear your Eagle badges proudly, and keep your goals high. Always remember: No one is an island, we never go through life alone. And all that we put into the lives of others, comes back into
our own.
