IRS Outlines Tax Regulations

For low income wage earners with a dependent the Earned Income Credit <a direct payment from the government to individuals

based on a percentage of earnings* has been increased to a maximum of $500. up from $400 in prior years. This credit is available regardless of whether or not the qualifying individual owes taxes fdr the year. Individuals who received unemployment compensation in 1979 may. depending upon the amounts of compensation and other income, be required to include a portion of their unemployment compensation in taxable income For those who itemize deductions, both the gasoline tax deduction and the deduction for political contributinas have been eliminated The mileage rate deduction for business use of a car has been increased from 17 cents to IB's cents a mile; and the rate for medical and charitable use of a car has been increased from 7 cents t^iRcentsa mile. Pastor Fox To Be Ordained HID GRANDE - On Thursday. January 17, Reverend Robert H. Fox pastor of the Rio Grande Bible Church Rio Grande, New Jersey will appear before the examining council at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Maple Shade, N.J Following this examination ordination services for Pastor Fox will be held on Sunday morning January 20 at the morning worship services in the Rio Grande Bible Church. The congregation, the families of Pastor and Mrs. Fox. area pastors and their wives, special guests arid friends of the Fox's have been cordially invited to attend this special celebration.
