Church Unity Octave Begins January 18

WILDWOOD - The Annual eight-<Jay period of prayer for Christian unity gets underway this Friday in the Greater Wildwood

area.

Sponsored by the Greater Wildwood Pastoral Association, the Church Unity Octave will be observed with gatherings at three different churches on three different times and

dates.

The Rev. Dr. Charles K. Smyth; superintendent of the Southeast District of the Southern New Jersey United Methodist Conference, will be the initial speaker at noon, Jan. 18 in the church hall of the First Presbyterian Church, Pacific and Burke Aves. In addition, the children’s choirs of participating churches will lead the congregation in the singing of hymns. An evening of ecumenical fellowship and hymn singing is the program for 7:30 Thursday, Jan. 24 at First Baptist Church of Wildwood at Atlantic and Maple Aves Churches cooperating in this year’s observance include Angel Visit Baptist, Asbury Methodist AME. First Baptist, Holy Trinity Lutheran, St. Ann’s, First United Methodist and First Presbyterian, all of Wildwood; St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox, St. Simeon’s Episcopel, and North Wildwood Methodist, all of North Wildwood, and Community Church of Wildv ood Crest.
