Files For
High-rise Hearing
COLD SPRING - Cape May motelman Harry Salt has formerly filed for a hearing on a proposal to erect a high-rise apartment complex on a parcel near Ocean Dr. and the Garden State Parkway adjacent to the foot of the canal bridge
here.
Mr. Salt, who in the past has been denied permission by Cape May City officials to build a seventh story to his Atlas Motel there, apparently wants to build a 10-story condominium complex overlooking Cape May Harbor and (he meadowlarids In his application for a 7:30 p.m., Feb. 21 hearing before the Lower Township Planning Board, Mr. Satt notes approval will be
sought for a high-rise complex containing 50 residential apartment units and a maximum of 2,000 square feet of commercial office area. He .has already been informed by the township that .while it would be permissible to build condominiums in .the Marina business zone, eight stories would be the maximum all6wed under existing ordinance However, Mr Salt’s notice states he will be seeking simultaneous relief from height, sewerage, density, lot size, set-back, lot coverage, recreational and other township requirements The hearing will be in the MUA building.
