FISHING CREEK - The Jersey Cape's'first Shop 'n' Bag supermMket opens in the Breakwalbr Shopping Plaza, Breawrater near Bayshore Rdjf.. here, this Saturday morning. The 10 am. opening comes following a two month delay caused by equipment and delivery problems. The new store with some 30,000 sq. ft. of space, is among the largest supermarkets in the area. In addition to personalized service and quality-at-low-prices. Shop n' Bags have a buy one-get-one free feature. The next closest are in Millville and Pleasantville; and like all the others, the Lower Township Shop n’ Bag is owner-operated, with the owner on hand for personalized service. Shop 'n' Bags started in Philadelphia in 1961 as an outgrowth of the Frank-ford-Quaker Grocery wholesalers. Frankford* began in 1888 and the operation has been 100 percent cooperative since that beginning. THE SHOP ’N* BAG in Fishing Creek will be in competition with the Acme. A&P. and Shop-Rite in the area. With shoppers coming here from throughout the county, it will help establish the location of Fishing Creek.
There has been reluctance on the part of some area people to /give directions to Fishing Creek sir&e the actual creek is at the northern end of the Villas while this commudity is at the southern end. Now, with a supermarket among the major attractions in the new shopping center people will get to know where the Fishing Creek community is.
